Recycled Sweaters

To heck with knitting and then felting, why not just make a trip to the thrift shop--pick up some wool or angora sweaters (anything that will shrink) and felt the heck out of them in my washing machnine--then start cutting? so..that is exactly what I did, and this purse, with matching small makeup bag (or eye glass case? you choose) was the result. I was fortunate to find a lovely lavender sweater with nice beadwork already done for me.... so viola! instant embellishment with beads...what a deal!

Here is the small bag I created first, it has a velcro for a closure.

Here is the front of the larger bag--I used parts of 3 sweaters and lined the whole bag with a fun paisley print.

And here is the back of the bag--with beadwork.

I didn't make this with anyone in mind for a holidaze present--so if you like this purse or little bag and are interested in purchasing these both (or either of them) by all means, e-mail me. I have a nice big pile of felted sweaters left to play with, so check back later this week for more creations....
