Sewing Paper Holiday Cards

Take some nice deckle-edged paper, tear it to the correct size, sew on some (previously used) holiday postage stamps---and Presto! a nice new (upcycled?) card for the upcoming Holiday Season. I also sewed along the outside edge of the cards. Some cards I hinged with the zigzag sewing---rather than folding the paper. I have saved up holiday postage stamps for a few years, but I sure would love to find a source for purchasing some more....

What a great, creative, recycling idea! those are great cards for the holidays. Oh, by the way, I recieved my card last week and I love it! So much more to it in person. Thank you so much!

What a wonderful idea, they look great. perhaps you could put out a call over the blogosphere for people to save their holiday stamps and mail them to you?

Hi dawn--I'm glad you liked the post card! I enjoy creating them...

and Jafarabit--I just purchased a bag of holiday stamps on Etsy, but I would love it if folks sent me their used holiday stamps!

Is there anything you can't recycle? I think not. I'm pretty impressed. I'm such a non saver that I never have anything like that around. Rats.

Very cool cards. My DH and I are way big into recycling and I especially love to do it with art. I save postage stamps and use them in various ways. I'd be happy to send you all my holiday stamps this year. Let me know.

Aurora, I'm a journalist working on a story about repurposing holiday cards. I'd like to use your idea, but want to give you credit. Please email me with your contact info.
