Mermaid & Crystals Bead Crochet

Bead crochet necklace with silver and mother of pearl mermaid pendant
A few years ago my sister sent me this lovely Mother-of-pearl and silver mermaid pendant made by an artisan in Alaska. Since I can't wear metal--I usually wore the pendant on a black cord--but always wanted to create a bead crochet necklace for the pendant...so here it is. Since I used mostly crystals, and white and clear seedbeads this was difficult to photograph with my point and shoot canon---but isn't the pendant lovely? I crocheted the seed beads and crystals around a silk cord--which ties in the back. I used silver bead caps on the ends of the bead crochet to finish this necklace off.

The pendant is cool, but I LOVE the bead crochet. I never tried that yet. Is it hard to learn??

Hi Aurora,

I really love the bead crochet for something like this as it is soft and supple and big enough to look good. White is so difficult to photograh with any clarity as the different while reflect so differently. I love the necklace. And I know it looks great on you!

Hi Aurora
Came over to your blog to answer your question re: ALT tags.
The
alt=” description goes here”
goes inside the image tage after the inage file name.

Look at the code underlined in red on the big image to see example.

You have to make sure you are on the HTML tab not Compose.

I hope that clears that up.

That owl will look awesome when you finish it. I LOVE owls. I have never tried embedding seed beads into wax like that....good luck.
